Aspen Fire Update II

Gusty winds "pushed the Aspen Fire": up to nearly 45,000 acres yesterday, while the containment level dropped from about 70% to 60%. Biking home yesterday, I had a dramatic view of the black billows of smoke coming from a new location, on the Tucson side of the Catalinas. The fire's new front has forced the closure of Sabino Canyon, and it looks unlikely that mountain residents will be allowed to return by the previously-announced date of July 10th.
