"He's going to try to cut off energy supply to affect the United States. I mean, what more reason do we need than to have good energy policy in the United States to diversify away from somebody like him?"

So says our president, in a statement that confounds both grammar and reason.

There's a reason the world isn't freaking out about Iraq's move to withhold oil exports for one month. Specifically, other members of Organization of Petroleum Exporting Companies don't want to shake up already hesitant markets. As a result, they will compensate for Iraq's slack by boosting their own exports, keeping prices from skyrocketing and therefore maintaining reasonable demand. Bush's statement that this, this is the reason for drilling in ANWR is misleading and disingenuous.
