Saturday morning

A fresh cup of coffee and some aimless cruising around the web yields:

  • A new direction for TV advertising. This starts out funny, but gets ugly really quickly.
  • 101 Dumbest Moments in Business. This article has been making the rounds through all the usual places, but it’s too good to pass up. It’s really remarkable how many dumb, dumb things are done and said by technology CEOs. In non-tech areas, there were some things I didn’t know about: Pre-moistened toilet paper; and Disney makes its theme-park employees wear company-issues underwear—it wasn’t until later that the company let the employees take the underwear home to wash them;

Other activities today: Spring break is just about over, meaning it’s time to get right back to work. I’ve just about caught up with data cleaning this week, but need to work on a syllabus for next summer and some additional projects. Life as a grad student: It’s ever-exciting. Spring is still crisp and cool here in the desert, so perhaps I’ll sit on the patio and drink more coffee.
