serious, not serious

Three interesting items for today, all of which are true. You may decide which are serious.

  • purportal: all the debunking information you need, all in one single place. Never fall for the Nigerian banking scam again.
  • say it enough, it must be true: Bush talks down economy when coming into office, and lo and behold, recession. Cheney and Bush both claimed today to have inherited a recession, in the best tradition of blaming current events on the previous guy. But the jargon just doesn't add up; last summer's gigantic tax "rebate" was based on projections of enormous economic surplus that are belied by current economics. So, is it take credit for surplus or blame recession on predecessor? One way is dumb, and the other way is dumb, too.
  • lego at work: way too much time on hands.
