Tight turns

Tan, rested, and ready, I'm back from vacation and catching up with all the outrage I left behind when I climbed Sonora Pass to the little cabin by the Stanislaus. The road up the east side of the pass is twisty and _steep_, but nobody every believes me when I tell them just how steep it is. Well, check this out:

Yes, you read right: Twenty-six percent grade! First gear 170-degree switchbacks. The pass end in a final crest, then another steep and narrow downhill reaching a long mountain road through meadows and pines, leading finally to Strawberry, CA, nestled along the river at about six thousand feet. A place to hike, nap, read, and sit by the river -- no better place to be, really.
