  1. How’s that Okkervil River album?

  2. Looks like a lot of work to actually figure it out. Easier to guess. Mine would be about the same number of tracks, with Americano by Roger Clyne showing up at the top (because it uses Spanish punctuation), and albums by Japanese artists at the bottom (because of the way iTunes alphabetizes non-alphabet languages). Shortest will be some intro thing, and longest will be some Yo La Tengo ambient piece. Most played will be Apoptygma Berzerk’s latest, and party shuffle will be something like Smoking Popes, Joy Division, The Smiths, The Cure, Velocity Girl, and John Coltrane.

  3. I’ve only given Black Sheep Boy about a listen and a half, but so far I really like it. “For Real” and “Black” are available from the band’s web site, and they’re pretty good representatives of the album—good stuff, I think. (And the album is available from eMusic; even better!)

  4. And to Lago:

    1. Easy to figure out, hard to transcribe. (There must be an applescript for that.)

    2. Something about the positivist versus gestalt method of data collection.

    3. Roger Clyne’s playing in Flagstaff in a couple of weeks. Worth checking out?

  5. Yeah, the missing “export in exactly the format I want” button threw me off. Re: Roger Clyne, I highly recommend seeing them play live. I see them live every chance I get (which is maybe twice a year, since they hang around the Baja/Sonora deserts, mostly).

  6. Premature submission there. In case you don’t already know, Roger Clyne and drummer P.H. Naffah were the main guys behind the Refreshments. Depending on how long you’ve been in AZ, you may remember some of the bands the current Peacemakers used to be in, including Dead Hot Workshop, the Mortals, Rain Convention, and Gloritone.
